Drysuit Diver

Often getting cold during dives? Then the Drysuit Diver specialty might be the solution for you. Unlike wetsuits, drysuits are filled with air and your body doesn't get wet. During your drysuit course, your instructor will teach you how to control the air in your drysuit along with your buoyancy.

What you will learn:

•Avoid common drysuit diving problems

•About the different types of drysuits

•Basic drysuit repairs and maintenance

•Choosing a drysuit and undergarment

•Care for your drysuit

What you will do:

During your drysuit orientation and confined water dive, you'll learn how to comfortably and confidently put on and remove a drysuit and perform basic in water skills. Next, you will complete two open water dives with one of our elite instructors, who will happily help you dial in your buoyancy and master your skills. This course requires two steps for certification. Step 1, Knowledge Development and Step 2, in-water training.

Step 1, Knowledge Development:

This may be accomplished in two ways. The first option is the traditional method by watching the PADI Drysuit Diver video and answering the questions in your Drysuit Diver manual. Your instructor will then go over the information with you to ensure comprehension. Option two is by completing the PADI Drysuit eLearning. The eLearning makes it easy to fit scuba lessons into a busy schedule. Complete the independent study part of your course whenever, wherever it's convenient for you. Work at your own pace, online or offline, using a computer or mobile device.

Time commitment: 2-4 hours

Step 2, In-Water Training:

During your confined and two open water dives, you will practice buoyancy control, mastering drysuit skills and safe diving practices.

Total course time commitment: 1 day
