Enriched Air Diver

Enriched air, also known as nitrox or EANx, contains less nitrogen than regular air. Breathing less nitrogen means you can enjoy longer dives and shorter surface intervals. No wonder Enriched Air Diver is the most popular PADI specialty.

What you will learn:

•How nitrox allows longer dives

•How to safely dive with nitrox

•How to use an oxygen analyzer

•Computer compatibility and how to use them

What you will do:This course requires two steps for certification. Knowledge Development training and Practical Exercises. Through Knowledge Development you will learn why nitrox allows you to make longer dives and how to safely dive with it. Next your instructor will demonstrate and then have you perform hands-on practical exercises. There are no dives required for this certification.

Step 1, Knowledge Development:This may be accomplished in two ways. The first option is the traditional method by watching the PADI Enriched Air Diver video and answering the questions in your Enriched Air Diver manual. Your instructor will then go over the information with you to ensure comprehension. Option two is by completing the PADI Enriched Air eLearning. The eLearning makes it easy to fit this training into a busy schedule. Complete the independent study part of your course whenever, wherever it's convenient for you. Work at your own pace, online or offline, using a computer or mobile device.Time commitment: 2-4 hours

Step 2, Practical Exercises:With your instructor you will learn how to identify, verify and analyze scuba tanks, fill out an enriched air log, and set your dive computer for nitrox.

Total time commitment:1-2 hours
